Fantasy name help??

I need a name for a fantasy world that has not been used. Any kind of name would be helpful... but I would prefer if it was short (or semi-short) and not overly hard to pronounce, like Emelan or Atlantis. Thank you.

unless your world is small, or overrun by a single culture, the name of the world will differ from culture to culture. Most likely, it will have *several* names. Most important will be to discover a name that sounds as if it belongs to the language of the people naming it!

Tolkien used an interesting tactic. Since he represented his stories as being legends translated into English, the name of the territory in which his adventures occurred was *also* translated, thus, "Middle Earth" (I suspect he got the idea from "Mediterranean"). Although it is likely that different nations will have place names, it is also possible that they will bear the names of the King or the King's family - for example, Judah and Israel, or even Rome.

So, rather than trying to name a "world", consider rather that most people are likely to name it "earth" (in whatever language they are using), and consider more what individual kingdoms, regions and geographic features will be called in the language of the people who reside there.
